  1. Bond movies! Any of them!

It may just be me but there's a slight difference between my list of "Favorite Best Movies I Love" and "Favorite Movies to Watch Over and Over." Like, I don't know if any of the Bond films ranks up there on my Favorite Movies of All Time, yet whenever I happen across on on the TV, I'll usually watch it to the end.

It might be more a matter of "takes me back to good times" than "this movie is really wonderful," or maybe it's a mixture of both. Anyway, there are a handful of movies that I can just pretty much watch anytime and frankly some of them aren't necessarily all that great in an absolute sense, but there's just something I find re-watchable about them. A list off the top of my head:

    Any Bond movie
Die Hard 1 and 3 (not 2, for some reason)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Pulp Fiction
    The Apartment
    Tremors
The Right Stuff (though I do consider this on my Favorite Movies of All Time list, also)
    The Road Warrior
    Jaws
A Shot in the Dark (Peter Sellers just slays me)
Young Frankenstein (also on the Favorite Movies list)
Bedazzled (original w/Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore)
    The Full Monty

I'm trying to figure out if there's some common denominator in there but darn if I can tell what it is. :P

EDIT: Actually come to think of it, all the above movies are just pretty darn good movies! And even a bad Bond movie is a lot of fun.

This is a good point and there are many for me also. Any of the original "Planet of the Apes" movies or any of the Carry on Gang films ("Up the Chastity Belt", "Up Pompeii" etc...) bring back good memories.

  5. Just a couple off the top of my head that I'll always stop to watch if I come across them while channel-surfing:

    Recent: LOTR

1964: Dr. No & From Russia with Love. Saw them as a double feature at a drive-in somewhere in Jersey while returning from the NY World's Fair. Also The Warlord with Charlton Heston, a few months later.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

That reminds me, it's been way too long since I last watched Transformers: The Movie, a few months at least... I'll have to do something about that.
