  1. Hi everyone,

I used a PVR to record a TV program into my Mac. I would like to convert it to into AVI XviD. To preserve the best possible quality, what setting whould I use in mpeg2enc > Options?

Once it's converted into AVI XviD, I will use either Toast or iDVD to convert it to VIDEO_TS and ad chapter markings.

Does anyone have suggestions on which mencoder XviD options to use:
    High Quality
    Use B-frames
    4 motion vectors
    Two-pass encoding
    Trellis quantization
    Quarter pixel ME (qpel)
    i-frames

fast bilinear, bilinear, bicubic, lanczos or bicubic spline?

    Help!?!

    Rio.

Did you read what the developer wrote about these options?

You don't go mpg -> XviD -> mpg -> DVD.
You go mpg -> DVD. Taking a detour over compressed AVI will only take away lots of quality.
If you can capture to mpg, capture to DVD specifications mpg - Then it's just a matter of authoring it to DVD.
