  1. I have a some avi files which I want to convert to dvd with a simple menu. Used Roxio Creator 9 suite which seemed to do the job. Problem is, there's no sound when I play them back on my stand alone (Toshiba 210).

However when I checked on my pc using Media Classic DVD Play there was sound on the dvd. For some reason the Toshiba isn't picking up the sound track.

Is this a problem with the conversion or the burn?

Ok, what (preferably free) application do you recommend?

Can't find any mention of the sample rate or how to change it.

Just tried convert & burn of one avi file without menu & it's worked fine. Looks like it's the menu that screws things up. Since each avi file is around 45mins I'd like to put 2 onto each dvd.

  4. Open the burned DVD in your PC drive with Windows explorer. Drag and drop one of the .vob files of 1 gb size in GSpot. Look at the audio properties.
