Hi All,
I have just purchased a Citizen C507DVD-B dvd player from Superstore in Canada. It was the cheapest one there so I thought I would have no problemhacking it to multi region - I was WRONG!!
I cant find any information on this DVD player and I have tried all the useual hacks. Is this a new chipset?
Is there any hackers out there who can face the challenge and help me combat this?

It isn't a matter of "hacking" the player. What everyone refers to as "hacks" for dvd players, are actually just options/features supported by the players firmware that the manufacturer has disabled. They often do this because they don't want to support a given feature, they can't get it to work well enough to prevent it from being a support issue or in the case of regions, because they are using the same firmware for players in different countries. A "hack" is simply a way of turning the feature back on.
With that said, not all players support all regions and the manufacturer can lock a firmware so that options cannot be turned back on.
If you really need a region free player, then go buy a region free player.Google is your Friend -
Krispy Kritter - That is without a doubt the best written explanation I've ever seen of so called "firmware hacks" for DVD players. 5 or so years ago, a few models of DVD players from China did have firmware that was actually hacked to turn off Macrovision, turn on multi region and so on, but in the vast majority of cases you are 100% correct that these "hacks" aren't really hacks at all. I never cease to be amazed at how many people are convinced that every single DVD player on the market can be "hacked" to be multi region and at how many people do no research at all before buying a player and just assume that what they buy can easily be made a multi region player. I read once some years ago about a company in the UK that actually put a component in DVD players that could switch any player to multi region mode, but DVD players cost a lot more back then and the cost of such an operation would surely exceed the cost of just buying a multi region player to begin with now.

jman98...Thanks for compliment.
And like you, I am amazed at the number of people that post here wanting "hacks" because they "need" a region free player. If they need one so badly, they should be shopping for and purchasing what they need.Google is your Friend
