Using TMPGEnc 4.0XPress , I recently re- encoded an .avi with the Xvid codec, I also re-encoded the audio to an ac3, 192kbps(I believe) After doing this I burned the video to a cd to be played on my dvd player, but the video was slightly choppy (moving with a stop and go rhythm) Why did this happen? And how can I avoid this error?
The spec's for the movie I encoded from are here below:

    Codek : Intel H.264
    Codek/Info : Intel H.264
    Timing : 1h 48min.
    Bits : 407 Kb/s
    Resolution : 640 piks x 320 piks
    Ratio : 2.2
    Frames : 25.000 r/s
    bity/(piks*frames) : 0.080

    Audio #0
    Codek : MPEG-1 Audio, layer 3, 128 Kb/s, CBR, LAME3.97b

When you re-encoded it, did you change framerate ?

23.976 to 25 can cause jerkiness because of the extra frame that is duplicated every second to make up the new rate. Similarly, 29.97 fps to 25 fps requires the removal of 4 fps, which can also cause jerkiness.

The correct way to do this would be to slow it down by 4%, however I suspect your encoder has simply dropped one from every second. There is no way to fix the result - you have to re-encode

Well Guns1inger Under your helpful and informative guidance I did accomplish the task, It wasn't easy to me at first. I couldn't seem to get the audio to sync up right, after changing the framerate in VirtualDuMod, but I used Belight to change the framerate for the audio to match the video and all fell right into place. I will continue to practice,Thanks much, your help is, and was, greatly appreciated!!
