I wondering if anyone can help, I'm looking to make up a scratch DVD and I'm not sure the best way to do this as I want to have high quality video and audio.

if say I rig up my digital camera through firewire to the PC and then the output from my mixer to the soundcard is there any software that would stream this to a file without have to mess about????

Any help ideas or other software I could use to do this would be appreciated as its a good camera so the video will be spot and I want the audio to be as good as a mix CD so I can send/give this to people as a DVD

    HELP!!!!!

  2. You could use GraphEdit to build a DirectShow graph with the cam and soundcard as sources, and create an AVI file. You can strip out the cam's audio and replace it with the soundcard's.

Caveat: make sure you use 48kHz/16-bit stereo for your soundcard if mixing to a DV format AVI file. Using 44.1kHz/16-bit stereo *may* lead to problems since not all DV decoders support it.

Here's an example graph (you'd replace the .AVI file source with your cam's live input):
