I used avi2dvd to convert my Xvid to dvd. The Xvid was Pal, so I convert it to Ntsc.
Avi2dvd puts it in Dolby Digital 2.0. So played it on my moms dvd player it work fine and it work fine on my brothers dvd player fine 2. Plays on pc fine

I just got a New Sony dvd recorder(RDR-GX330). So I played it my new dvd player, I can't get the sound to work. I use avi2dvd before, they work fine on this player. I try diffrent audio settings on the player with no luck.

    Thanks for help

Does the DVD play properly in any other player?

What audio codec was used to encode the original AVI(s)?

Since the disc plays fine in other players, most likely the disc is not fully dvd compliant. Some players are very picky about media and dvd structure.

I seem to remember an issue concerning the audio tracks where some players expect the default audio track to be a PCM track. If it isn't, they will ignore any other tracks even if they are in supported formats. I could be wrong, I haven't seen this issue in awhile. Maybe someone else remembers more details.

Yes dvd plays fine on 2 other players, and for codec i don't know. I use the HCEnc encoder in
Avi2dvd. I use Avi2dvd on a diffrent dvd, it works fine in this Sony player.

Do thank it has something to do with the Pal to NTSC?
I did not have to concert to NTSC on the other dvd i did

I thank I try diffrent encoders and see if it works.

    Thanks for help
