Good Afternoon everyone!![]()
I've used many DVD burner programs but i just can't seem to find a right one. What i'm looking for is one that only depends on the size of the videos but not the length time since those videos i have are in perfect quality. Also, this DVD burner program will support almost all the common video formats like .rmvb, .avi, .wmv, ..etc.. so that i don't need to convert them to DVD formats. I doubt if this sort of program exists thoughBut please help, or at least tell me what dvd burner programs you think the best so that i could give it a try, thanks a lot

burn as dvd-video that works on most standalone dvd players? or just burn as data dvd discs?
-
Any burning program will put any kinds of files onto a DVD, regardless of any factor other than exceeding the disk size.
Your question seems to be about converting, or authoring, but has nothing to do with burning.
If this is for standalone players, you need one of the one-click wonders that is fairly idiot-proof.
Or you can do a LOT of reading, research, and experimenting, and determine the best way to do each file. -
Not any kind of DVD burner programs support .rmvb, .avi, ..etc..
But i guess it's ok, i don't care about that part, what i care about is how many videos i could put on a dvd. You see, i have these 20 movies with great quality and their total sizes are about 4GB. I want to burn them onto a standard DVD (4.7 GB) but i can't! because none of the dvd burner programs that i've tried support the video sizes which means those programs depend on the length time rather than the videos size. No matter how large the videos are as long as it reaches like about 2 hrs, i can't put in more. So i'm just trying to look for a program that does depend on the video sizes but not the length time. Do you know any?? -
oh 1 thing i forgot to mention is that i want to burn them as dvd-video so that i could watch them on dvd players, thanks for your help

I know you are more concerned with the size of a video and not the running time, but running time is what everything is based on. If you have a 2 hour Divx video, it will still be two hours long when encoded to MPEG-2 DVD format. But it will be several times larger, usually 3 - 4 times to maintain a similar quality. That's because of the format.
And none of this has anything to do with burning. Changing the format of a video is encoding.
If you want your videos to play on a regular standalone DVD player, then try a program like ConvertXToDVD for simple conversion/encoding to the DVD format. Or if you have a Divx compatible standalone player, just convert the odd formats like RMVB to Divx video and leave the compatible Divx or Xvid videos as is.
