    Dear colleagues.
    I have HAUPPAUGE HVR-1300.

    The problem that I am having with TV, COMPOSITE or SVHS capture is that the recordings are just too loud on audio.

    Is there a way to decrease a audio level for the audio CAPTURE?

    I couldn't find any option about that in WINTV software.

    Please help - any suggestion?

    Does the audio plug into the capture card, or your audio card ?

    If it is the latter, double-click on the speaker icon in the tray to bring up the mixer. Click on Options -> Properties, then click on Recording, then OK. You can now adjust the input volume for which ever device is recording (probably mic or line in).

    Unfortunately it is the first option because it is a PVR card so audio cable goes directly in to the card.

    I am thinking about possible solution as a last option if nothing else will work. Maybe I could put changable resistor at the audio cable so I could turn down with the resistor the audio level. That will be the last option I guess.

  4. Great. It sounds like the HVR-1300 is having the same audio problem the PVR-150 had. It "only" took them a year to fix the PVR-150 drivers. And that was after PVR-150 owners figured out what was wrong and spelled it out to them in excruciating detail. I'm convinced there are no programmers left at Hauppauge who know anything about the hardware they sell.

    For my Hauppauge PVR USB2 this registry sequence is default audio recording level. It way overmodulates.
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Conexant\Parameters\ivac15\DrvUSB]
    "Scart1Volume"=dword:00007701
    "PrescaleScart_RADIO"=dword:00003000
    "PreScale_Scart_EXT"=dword:00003500
    "PreScale_Scart_NICAM"=dword:00005800
    "PreScale_Scart_FMAM"=dword:00002403
    This setting turns the VCR input down to about the tuner volume.

    I got these settings from SHS forum. The HVR-1300 may not use the same entries.
