rmvb help

I have scoured over the forums and elsewhere, but am still having issues. I have just installed ffmpegX and the reallib files in an attempt open and convert some rmvb files I have. I am having the same issue I have heard others having, but can not seem to resolve them. The app just hangs if I try and open an rmvb file, or drag it into the import box. I end up having to force quit the app.

Here are things I have tried:

1. Re-naming the rmvb file to .rm
2. Re-installing the reallib
3. Re-installing ffmpegX
4. Changing permissions on lib files and source files
5. Re-booting (of course)
6. Opening the app in Rosetta

Incidentally, I did have to find and download a stable version of reallib because the link on http://homepage.mac.com/major4/download.html (http://forms.helixcommunity.org/helix/builds/?category=helixdnaclient) does not have an option to download macos-gcc3-pb.

Thanks, that solved my hanging up problem - now I have to figure out why it doesn't encode. When I click the encode button, it rings after about 4 secs and I get a 4K file out of the deal. I will search the forum.
