    i have a win98 se .ima file i'm wanting to burn onto a cd,but can't seem to figure it out.I can open it with winimage and or magiciso but neither will burn it.I know i'm missing a step do I need to convert the file,.iso? It says not supported by disk drive. I'm trying to reboot my Mom's old computer for her so any and all help is appreciated.

  2. Convert it to ISO, then you can burn it with your usual program, using the burn image file option.

    thanks I thought that was what I needed to do.Now next ?, which program will convert .ima to .iso
    I have magiciso but just the trial version is there a way to do it with this or winimage?Couldn't figure out how to convert files

  4. What limitation is on the Magiciso trial? I don't have winimage on a PC right now and it's been a while. A few things you can try, just guessing:
    - Load the image file in Winimage and see if you can export or save as ISO.
    - Use your CD burning program to open the image, set the filetype to all files.
    - Compress the IMA file in Winimage to make it an IMG file and burn it with ImgBurn.

    ONES should burn it using generic image format -- you might have to change .ima extension to .iso (maybe)

    you could always just mount the ima iamge with DAEMON Tools and burn it - but also create a boatable floppy to use to boot..

    you could also try any of these free burners to see if any of them support ima files direct http://www.thefreecountry.com/utilities/dvdcdburning.shtml
