No recordable DVD will ever play in any player.

Worth noting, is that Verbatim is regarded as the most reliable (=playable) recordable dual layer DVD there is. Verbatim seems so far ahead of the competition, it's not worth spending money on anything else for home brew dual layer Video DVD. (Just passing on what I've read here at Videohelp - no personal experience with dual layer.)

In the case of dual layer there is little argument opposing the premise that DVD+R DL is superior at this time.

Reported success with Verbatim is much higher than others. I still can't get SONY Ricoh media to burn to completion successfully.

Some players will read burned DL disks, and some won't.

If you seriously want to burn dual layer DVD, you need to do 2 things.
    1) Buy ONLY Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. Do NOT buy DL discs of any other company and do NOT mess with DVD-R DL.
    2) Read this article
    http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/pgcedit_guide/burning_with_pgcedit/burning_with...pgcedit_v2.htm
It tells how to use PgcEdit to make ISOs and how to use ImgBurn to burn the ISOs. If you do any other method, including using Nero, you are potentially setting yourself up for problems down the road with your discs.
