    Hello everyone,

I am currently using the Adaptec GameBrudge AVC-1410 on my laptop to capture from digital cable and/or vcr to my laptop.

The software that came with it was InterVideo Home Theater. However, while the software is not bad, I find there is not much flexability in terms of setting the capture settings.

Can anyone recommend me any software (free or paid) that would offer a bit more flexability?

    Thank You.

Maybe look at the HDHomeRun digital tuner which will allow you to record any over the air digital or unencrypted digital cable. Sounds like you are just capturing the analog s-video/composite outs? You would get MUCH better quality capping the digital stream.
Along with HDHR you can use Sgae, Media Center, etc...

But it is not a simple double click the setup program and your up and running kinda thing to get it working. You gotta be a little technically inclined and not a noob.

Yep that's excately what i am doing with the analog s-video/composite outs. Quality is not really my main issue here, per se, more along the lines of i am just looking for something to cap/watch tv on my laptop and that's about it

Thank you very much for the reply sir!

How do you contol channel changing if you are using composite/s-video capture and therefore manage your recording schedule?
