I've recently bought a Creative Vision M player and am having some difficulty loading video to it. I have a number of films recorded from tv saved in DVD format and other DVD's on my hard disk. I have used "Super" to convert without success and also Roxio 9 - which takes forever to encode but fails. What am I doing wrong? What should I use to convert? The internal converter of the Creative is pretty useless. I'm new to this video stuff and I'm a little lost when it comes to the terms used.
Any help or pointers greatly appreciated. I don't know what format I should try to convert to. I've tried MP4 MPEG 2 AVI iPod and none work for me. Should the Creative use the same format as iPod?

Encode to Xvid with MP3 audio using Autogk.

Thanks steveryan. Tried as you suggested and then was able to convert with Creative Visions converter. Works well.
    Many thanks
