Ok folks. I have a movie that would extract from a rar, and then have a crc error and just stop and delete itself. I stopped the rar process at 99%, and copied and pasted the file. I burned it to a cd-r and it will play in my standalone player until the 15 minute mark.

I remember trying this a couple of months ago, and the file WOULD play in media player, but not it doesnt want to (new windows install)

Ok, so I have tried reencoding in v-dub, riverpast video cleaner, tmpgenc, convertXtodvd, and it wont load, or wont encode PAST the 15 minute mark. I have tried several div-fix utilities, that will only repair and copy the file until the 15 minute mark.

    Yes I have the codecs(gspot)

So what can I do or use to get this video running????

That sounds like you had a corrupted RAR file with parts missing. Unless you have the PAR files available, I don't know of any way to fix it. You can try extracting again and tell the program to ignore the missing parts or errors, but it may not help. With WinRAR you have the option of 'Repair Archive', which never worked for me, or 'Extract without confirmation', which sometimes works.

  5. VirtualDub's AVI scan utility might allow you to get past the error.
