    Hi,

I wonder if anybody can fill me in on my problem. I have a Pioneer 106D RW and it has been working great until i recently reformatted my hard-drive and reinstalled Windows XP. Now, whenever i put in a CD or DVD it won't read the information on the disks. However, this only happens with disks i have a created myself, if i put in a CD or DVD with a game or something on it then it works fine. This is made even more annoying as the disks i need to access are all the data i backed up before my reformat, personal documents, family pictures and lots of music. I could access the disks fine before the reformat, i checked and double checked this before i wiped my drive. What could be causing this? Any suggestions/advice would be greatly received.

    Regards

    Rizla^

Seems strange that it can read pressed media but not burnt media. That is a typical symptom of a dirty lense, but seems strangely coincidental that it only started happening when you reformatted.

I would check that your drive is not in PIO mode. Also take a look at the drive in Device Manager and see if anything appears out of order.
    If in doubt, Google it.
