im trying to author some dvdr (the pursuit of happyness)
and when i demux the files i get 2 audio streams
both english but one is stereo and one is AC3.

how can i keep both of them (im using the muxman tutorial),
my goal is that i can choose on my dvd remote control
if i want ac3 or stereo sound.

do i need to put the stereto audio stream on AUDIO2 on muxman?

    thanks.

Why would you need both ? Unless the stereo version is a commentary. The 5.1 version will be downmixed to stereo if required anyway. Use the extra space for video.

well, the thing is that this movie is all talking no effects,
so on AC3 sound i must turn the volume really high.
and what do you mean by "downmix itself"?

DVD players will downmix 5.1 to stereo if configured to output through standard stereo analogue PCM output. You will only get 5.1 if you use a digital connection to your amp, or 6 separate analogue outputs. Similarly, software players that do not have a 5.1 card will output stereo. It is part of the basic DVD specification.

I see now, thanks a bunch for your help,

I do have one last question though,
You wrote "use the space for your video", what do you mean by that?
when i remux all my streams i can higher up the bitrate of the video stream?
cause from what i know, its constant already.

I assume this is a dual layer original. What he means is,trying to put 2 layers of material onto a single layer disc requires some crunching of video to do so.The more extra stuff you get rid of leaves more room for the main movie, hence better quality video.I'll bet the stereo audio is commentary.Get rid of it and all the trailers and subtitles etc.
