Here is my situation. I am using DazzleDVC Parallel port capture device, and I am capturing from a palmcorder at 1123kbps. The files are being captured in the MPEG1 format. I use this setting because it is the standard VCD setting in Ulead Video Studio 5 which I use to do my editing. This way all I have to render are the transition scenes I add to the file. However some of the scenes look blocky and the audio is out of sync at times. I have been reading the articles and posts on this site and all I can say is that now I am getting very confused, because I thought it was better to capture in MPEG1 instead of AVI. No one mentions what kind of file they are converting when they use a third party application to do so.
Here are my questions:
What would be a good capture rate using the above product?
If it is higher than the setting I use would one of the applications this site lists to render an MPEG file so it can be burned as a VCD better than using Uleads rendering software if so which one?
Is there any kind of software that will allow me to adjust the file after it has been captured because some parts of it look rather grainy and dark(probably due to not enough light)?
Thank you for any help anyone can give
