I inadvertently attached a 16MB file to send. Our e-mail/ISP has only 5MB limitation on attachment, I believe. So the outgoing message is stuck in the Outbox. I tried Delete and Move to Another Folder but it won't do anything. Tried the Outlook Help. Nothing. Thanks for any help.

Just a wild guess, Is the message sending when you try to delete it? Click the send and receie button to see if it's sending, if it is click stop but that might not work. If not try opening the options and uncheck "send and receive on startup" close outlook express then reopen and try to delete.

another guess if that doesn't work, close outlokk express. Find

    C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR LOGIN NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{BUNCH OF NUMBERS AND LETTERS}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Outbox.dbx

You could just search for Outbox.dbx too, make sure you pick the right one. Rename it Outbox.old . Open Outlook Express, it should recreate the outbox.dbx file and since there's nothing in it nothing to send....

If it doesn't work go back and rename the file back to the original.

Disconnect from the internet before starting outlook and try deleting again

Thanks guys. I click "Work Offline" and used the firewall to block all traffic. I re-started and voila. I am not sure if just working offline could have done the job by itself.
