    When I was checking Youtube today, the video wouldn't display. Instead, it would show this message:

    Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player.
    So I decided to download the latest Flash player, but 5 attempts later, it still shows the same message.

    What browser are you using? And yes, I have to ask: do you have Javascript turned off?

    Are you using Firefox with NoScript installed, or have installed NoScript recently?

    Have you installed any plugins (other than Flash) or add-ons for Internet Explorer, recently?

    I don't have access to Internet Explorer 7 at the moment, but the following might be similar.

    In Internet Options (select from the Tools menu, or right-click the IE icon on the desktop), pick the Security tab. Click the 'Internet' icon, and then click the Custom Level... button near the bottom of the window.

    In the following window, I'm not sure how many of these apply, so it might be best just to list what you have set for each of them.

    * Microsoft VM > Java Permissions
    * Scripting > Active Scripting
    * Scripting > Scripting of Java applets

    To be safe, don't change any settings, unless you're absolutely sure what you're doing.

    OK, let's see....

    Active Scripting is already marked as "Enabled" and "Scripting for Java Applets" is also already marked as "Enabled."

    And I don't see "Microsoft VM" listed here.

    Hmm... Have you tried scanning for spyware, or any Browser Helper Objects in IE (which the spyware scan should do, anyway)?

    Sorry I'm not of much help - I don't normally use Internet Explorer. :/
