I've connected this upconverting DVD Player to my Hitachi Plasma Screen via HDMI--but I have a problem with overscan! I cannot get the "4:3" Aspect ratio to display correctlly. It is not among the selections.
When I retried in the setup (Video Output Mode), I'd select 480P and the setup screen would fill the screen to slightly beyond the HDTV's edges, when I'd select 720P or 1080i, the setup screen was definately well beyond the screen's edges.
Its gotta be a setting somewhere as I could never get the 4:3 aspect ratio to display with the pillerbox effect on the left and right hand side (this is the only way my Sony camcorder Digital 8 tape displays without losing resolution when streached). When I depress the "Zoom" tile on the remote, the 4:3 option is not displayed. If anyone out there can upderstand my problem and know what I might be doing wrong, I'd sure like to hear from you so that I know how to set the the S77 for Digital-8 movies and then set the S77 up for 720P/1080I upconverting without going way beyond the edges of my Plasma HDTV. Thanks.
