Hi folks
I'm narrowing my options to just a few dvd recorders that I'm choosing from, and definately want to be able to play my avi-dvd's as well as all other types of dvd film.
Many I've chosen are only Divx- do the dvd recorders also need to be Xvid, or will the Divx still play whatever I want?

Divx certified players will also play Xvid. Similarly, those that are not certified but playback mpeg 4 will playback Divx and Xvid. There are certain limitations on how the files must be encoded, but if you have owned a player that plays them before, they should work fine.

Would synch mostly occur on DVD to DivX, or XviD to DivX?
