I have a Kobian Mercury 7130 WDM video capture card (www.mercury-pc.com - it seems they don't make it any more even though I just bought it, but hey this is Canada) and their matching capture program TVR (the most recent version). I get video fine, but I can't get sound through the card because their software has no option for that. With their program I can only get TV sound through my sound card line in which is CD 44.1 kHz only, not 48 kHz DVD-compliant.
Has anyone else run into this, and have you found a solution? like using another capture program?

Finally Mercury got back to me - the card hardware has no capability of capturing sound. But, somehow it manages to persuade the sound card to encode at 48 kHz despite its manufacturer's statement that it's limited to 44.1 kHz. So, I'll have to reach around to plug and unplug sound card connections every time I want to shift from TV capture to CD capture, but it actually does work both ways.
