    Hi,

I have a question here.. I am using a software that use DirectEncode MPEG Encoding Filter to encode my mpeg file. But the quality is not very good. I would like to know if this Codec is implanted into the software, that means I can't change it? or it depends on my PC? If I buy a very very good Video Card, does it change anything, or can I update with Codec?

    Thank you!

Well it looks like DirectEncode is now Standard MPEG and they offer a directshow encoder as well as direct interface to their dll's. You used the term filter, which suggests that the app you are using encodes via directshow. Whether or not you can change the encoding graph to use a different filter for encoding is a different matter though.

Either way the video card wouldn't make any difference, that is unless you used an encoder that used hardware acceleration. Even then it would only effect the speed.

    Perhaps a different app altogether?

That's mean I have to use the codec that is implanted in their software, and there's no way to change it?
