What's up with ffmpegX and Major these days?

I'm just wondering if Major has given up on ffmpegX or if he plans to continue developing for it? I know it's a "major" investment of time.

ffmpegX has competition from VisualHub (whose development has been rapid), but I don't like VisualHub's interface compared to ffmpegX's.

Also, so many DVDs have the ability to play DivX files, so that also reduces the need to an app like ffmpegX.

So what's happening?

There is ongoing effort to develop version 1.0.0, which will feature a significant improvement towards the 0.0.0 series. However this is not full time work, so it takes some time.

However, all plans seem to confirm that 1.0.0 should be ready somewhen in 2007.
