  1. I am interested in doing a 5.1 mix and I'd like to examine the individual channels of some 5.1 mixes. When I used BeLight's AC3 to six mono wav conversion function, the wavs it output were unlistenable and did not demonstrate the expected separation. They all sounded the same (phasing in and out, fluctuating in volume, heavily distorted). Did I do something wrong or is there a program that splits (rather than joins) a multi-channel ac3 better?

BeSweet 6.0 didn't work either. The tracks it output were half the size of the original and all sounded like a progressively louder and louder thumping that I'm sure would've killed any speakers (I had to yank off my headphones).

  3. Thanks for tranzcode. It worked great. Dialogue was completely (and I mean, completely) center except for ADR voices with a tiny bit of phantom center from the music lyrics (music was otherwise left and right with a little in the surrounds) but there was no LFE (I'm guessing either the LFE was saved for the action sound effects or the mixers prefered to let the viewer's system extract that info).
