Scart is a 'both way' interface so should have video and audio out as well as video and audio in. However, not all pins are used by all devices. A DVD player (not recorder) for instance will not have the input pins connected.
If you are using a fully wired (21 pin) scart cable it should work and the video from your VCR should be output to your DVD recorder. It may well be that the scart on your TV/VCR is only wired as an input (so you can plug a DVD player into it) and the output pins aren't connected. If this is the case, you need a different VCR..... -
i have tried so many different combinations i thought something was wrong? it may be easier to borrow someones VCR i guess, thanks
