Is it possible to change a region on a DVD as I did have a multiregion DVD but it crapped out and I have a few DVD'S from the UK and I am Living in Canada and want to watch them i dont want to back them up with a region free i just want to no can i change the region on a orginal disc??

There is no way to change the information on a commercially-pressed DVD -- so, no, you can't change the region coding on one. All you can do is either rip the data and burn it to a DVD-R (stripping the region coding in the process), find a "region-free" hack for your current DVD player, or get a new player that's region-free.

Buy yourself two DVD players. Set one for Canada and set the other for UK. Problem solved.

Aside from region coding, another problem is that DVD's from the UK will be in PAL format and in Canada we have NTSC. There are some players that will convert from PAL to NTSC "on the fly", but not many. So you need a player that is region free and converts PAL to NTSC. They are available, my Lite-on DVD recorder does it after changing the firmware.
