  1. Hi everyone,

    I currently have CCE 2.64 and virtualdub 1.4.8. I am trying to convert DivX to SVCD using vcdhelp.com's HOWTO. I've followed every steps accordingly up to STEP 8, then I get the following error when trying to load the .vdr file into CCE.

    Error message "NewMovieFromFile() failes(0).

    I've read over the instructions many times and redid the procedures many times to make sure I didn't miss a step, but I still get the same problem. I read on other websites that I should save the file as a .avi instead of a .vdr file after clicking on "start frame server" in virtualdub. Then I tried to load the .avi file into CCE and I get the following error.

    Error message "This is not an avi file". What am I doing wrong??

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    -B-

  2. CCE 2.64 doesn't accept VDR files or AVS files, from what I heard. So stick to CCE 2.50 SP if you plan to frameserve into it with V-Dub or Avisynth.

    Hope it helps.....

  3. Thanks for the info. I just installed CCE 2.50. I followed the same procedure up to Step 8 from vcdhelp.com's HOWTO's. I then load up the .vdr file into CCE, but then now CCE just disappears. The program just goes away all of a sudden as if it it just got closed out. By the way I am using Windows 2000. I don't know what to do now. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

  4. I assume that you are frameserving with V-Dub with correct procedure:
    open your avi file, set up your filters, turn on aviproxy, start frame server, when prompted save your file as file.VDR, not avi! then drag this VDR file into CCE 2.50 SP. If you did all these and CCE still disappeared, I am really stumped

  5. That's exactly what I did and CCE 2.50 still crashed on me. I'm stumped also, but thanks for the help.
