My C drive is approaching 2 years old and I would like to copy it to another drive before it expires and then use the new drive as my new C(boot) drive.

Norton Ghost or similar application will do it.

IMO, don't try to copy anything from your old drive to a new one.. disconnect your old drive, install new one, install OS of choice, install old drive as slave drive ,and use as backup drive with all your apps... thats just one way of doing it.....good luck!!!!

If you buy a new hard drive, the manufactorer usually supplies free programs that will copy the old hard drive to the new hard drive.
If you wish, you can go to a manufatorers web site and see what they have for programs that you can download today.

    To a2j3,

HDclone looks real good but for the fact that my C drive is 160gb and the maximum for HDclone is 137gb if I read the specs correctly.

  9. One of our IT guys recommended DriveCopy software to me when my hard drive was failing. It was 40 Gigs, so I don't know if it has any size requirements, you'll have to look that up online. But it did make an exact copy and worked great.
