    hello,
i was wondering if there is a freeware program that can batch process audio files. What i am trying to do is increase the volume of several wave files, but not to the point where it distorts (clip?). i am not sure what this process is called. (normalizing?)

i am also wondering if VirutalDub can do batch processing as well. What i am trying to do is convert numerous .vob files from a dvd to wave files that i can either burn to a cd or convert to a VBR mp3. I am familiar with converting individual .vob files to .wav files, but i would like to automate the process.

thank you in advance and i look forward to hearing from someone soon.

  2. Besweet will normalize your files, and has batch processing. It also has a plugin called VOBInput.dll which will let you extract the audio from VOBs and convert it to WAV. I haven't tried VOBInput so I can't say how well it works.

You'll have to downmix from 5.1 to Stereo, and hope your resulting WAV isn't over 2GB in size. Besweet should let you do a conversion from AC3 straight to MP3, including volume boosting.

You'll need Besweet, plus Belight - the GUI

I haven't had much success with the Vobinput plugin. If it doesn't work, you can load your Vobs into DGindex and demux the audio into one big AC3 file, then load the AC3 into Belight.
