Hi, I've been using fitcd for a while to make avisynth files for CCE. Mostly it's fine but sometimes I get a weird error and I'm hoping someone can explain why so I can solve it.

So the file I'm having problems with at the minute is as follows:-

25fps 69 min 17 sec (this is what the length of the vid is and this is what it says in the top part of fitcd)

This is the avisynth file it's giving me... looks fine to me:-

    # -= AviSynth v2.5.7.0 script by FitCD v1.2.8 =-
    AVISource("F:\2007 MotoGP R01 Qatar 125cc.avi")
    LanczosResize(672,544,0,3,512,378)
    AddBorders(24,16,24,16)
    #Trim(0,103925).FadeOut(150)
ConvertToYUY2() # For VirtualDub or CCE

but when I load it into CCE it shows number of frames as 240 and length as 00:00:09:15

I have checked it in avicodec and it's telling me

    File : 657 MB (657 MB), duration: 1:09:17, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s)
    Video : 593 MB, 1197 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 512*384 (4:3), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
    Audio : 63 MB, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

I am encoding 3 other files showing the same codec info in avicodec and they don't have the same problem.

Can anyone tell me why it's doing this? It only seems to do it with a small % of files and there doesn't seem to be anything that's obviously the same with all of them. Any advice gratefully received as I need to keep my GP Race collection going

Any way to check, or what could I run it through to try and repair? Funny thing is all these files that do this only come up with 240 frames

  4. Can you open the .avs in VDub(Mod)? If so, when you go File->File Information, does it have the correct length? If not, what's the error message?

OK, when I first opened the file in vdubmod it gave this warning:-

[!] AVI: Truncated or invalid MP3 audio format detected (16 bytes, should be
    30). Attempting to fix.

When I check file information it gives the correct length (103926 frames (1:09:17:04) and no error messages.

When I try to open the avs file in vdubmod it gives this error:-

    Avisynth open failure
No Compatible ACM codec to decode 0x0055 audio stream to PCM.

  6. From there select Video -> Direct Stream Copy, then Save as AVI to create a new file. See if that works in AVISYnth and CCE.

Excellent mate That seems to have solved it, now showing correct time in CCE and hopefully now will encode nicely!

    Thanks everso for you help!

Make sure all the audio is there (that it doesn't end where the problem was detected) and that it is in sync all the way through.

The audio is there but is out of sync on the interviews at the end (difficult to tell during the race with just a quick check, will need to watch it closely). I'll have a further play about with the audio in goldwave. Hopefully I'll be able to get it sorted that way.

    Thanks again
