Audio stutter with GUI_DVDauthor

I created a DVD using GUI_DVDauthor (which is a nifty program) and it looks fine, but the audio cuts in and out just about every second. I played the resulting VOB files directly (with Nero ShowTime) and both the video and the audio are fine that way. Then I point Nero ShowTime at the VIDEO_TS folder, and it brings up the menu correctly, but the sound cuts in and out. The burned DVD also exhibits this behavior.

Since the VOBs are fine, what should I look at to correct the problem?

Have you just tried play with nero crap showtime?
Tried on a standalone dvd player?
What audio format are you using? dolby ac3,mpeg or wav/pcm?

Bingo. I tried it on PowerDVD and it worked fine. I assumed they all played the same, now I know they don't.

I'm using MP2 audio.
