  1. I keep running into avi files with ts in the name and I can only get audio out of them. What are they and how can I convert them?

  2. Telesync - These are also recorded in a cinema but usually on an expensive camera and they should have a seperate audio source (so the audience cannot be heard), these are generally very good quality and highly watchable.
I copied that from this site for you.... Try looking under the FAQ for more details, although this wont sort out how to view your files....
Have you tried opening the files In Virtual Dub and looking at the file properties. this is your best bet to start with. Make sure you've also got every codec going...

  3. These are released as vcd's, what you have has been converted to divx or smr (yuk) you need the right codecs. And umm... dont waste your time trying to rencode these they are poor sources.
