Trying to locate cable for old "Made in Japan for Sears Robuck and Co"
camcorder, model #93453744950. Camcorder audio/video socket is an 8 pin S-Video.
Other end of cable needs some type of standard video and audio plug.

Spent most of Sunday afternoon searching, with no results. Sears has nothing. The 8 pin
S-Video cables I found have diferent pin patterns.

I am ready to quit .... but ....if anyone could furnish any kind of info, I say ..Thanks.

The model number is one digit short according to Sears online. "934.53744950?"

The decimal needs to be there, too. It's listed more commonly as a 53744 Camcorder.

    Who made it? RCA/Hitachi?

This Russian website shows a 8-pin s-video to rca stereo cable.

Sears is usually good about finding their parts with the exception it seems for gas grills.

5-9 pin DIN connectors are common for computers

    Apple http://pinouts.ru/Video/applesvideoout_pinout.shtml

    ATI AIW http://pinouts.ru/VideoCables/ati_vidinput_pinout.shtml

    ATI VIVO http://pinouts.ru/Video/radeon_vivo_pinout.shtml

    Nvidia VIVO http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=pinconvid_minidin9

Maybe Sear's source used one of those.

I've been following up on the suggestions, but no cigar.

The Sears model number is correct, it was double checked against the camcorder. Also, if you google it, you will get some hits (battery).
Sears parts web site does not have anything for that model number.

    Don't know actual Japanese manufactorer.

I found a few cables, but the 8 pin configuration is diferent. Best hope right now is that its an Apple configuration cable. I will pursue that course.

There is a time to sow and a time to reap, also a time to throw the thing in the trash. Technology has no room for sentiment.

I have avoided buying from Sears for about 15 years because they had the habit of making things with non-standard parts so you would have to go to Sears' parts outlet when something broke.

I used to buy all my tools there because of the lifetime guaranty on "Craftsman" brand.

I do a fair amount of lawn work for myself and others. The Ryobi click-link trimming gear sold by Sears had a different style clink-link fitting than the same product sold at Home Depot. If you started at Sears, you were stuck there buying accessories.

Their gasoline gas trimmers used smaller diameter fuel line that anyone else and they wanted 5 dollars for about 10 inches of it.

I managed to mod a weed wacker carb fuel inlet and outlet with lead solder so larger diameter line would work. That straight-shaft trimmer was literally thrown out by a neighbor because he couldn't find fuel line for it anymore. It was "different" - no clutch/straight shaft (nice, but uncommon for residential use/20cc motor (no balls). The worm gear on the trim head stripped after the plastic housing melted one day for lack of grease.

When KMart bought Sears to keep them from bankruptcy, I didn't feel sorry for them.
