  1. Ok I have a lot of MP3's with bad tags. I have gone in and manually
named the files in the <artist> - <song> format.
Is there any tag editor that will read the file name and fill in the
tag with the info I have in the filename?

The GodFather (according to its help file) has some support for converting filenames to tags. It's what I'd probably use, as it is what I have.

I use ID3-TagIT and it easily converts back and forth. It's freeware and very good IMO. Look in Tools section. If not there, Gooogle it. Good luck.

If you use Foobar2000 as a player, it can do it. Just set the wildcards and it will import from the filename. It can also tag from freedb2 for albums.

    Use Mp3Tag
    http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html

Best app when it comes to tagging (to my knowledge). Supports a lot filetypes, not just Mp3. Many built in converters like tag->filename and vice versa. Supports online inquiry of databases like freedb. It's free and it's great.
