While I am far from a pro, Shit I'm far from amatuer, I can probably say that TMPGEnc is better at encoding mpg1, if that is what you mean. At least from my reading that seems to be the popular opinion. mpg2 it appears would be CCE

  4. TMPGEnc and Panasonic MPEG Encoder are probably the two best MPEG-1 encoders at standard VCD bitrates and settings.

What is your bitrate? Are you making standard vcds, or Xvcds?

I'm NO pro. But for the price (FREE) TMPEGnc rocks the house for all I do. I make xVCD's with a variable bitrate of 300-2520 with an average of 1444. This puts about an hour on each disc for me...

  12. here goes dont know if u mean these
    size640-366
    aspect ratio 1:1(vga)
    frame rate 23.796 fpsec
    constant bitrate
    bitrate1150

  13. Okay.

When you encoded your DivX with TMPGEnc, did you load the NTSC-FILM VCD template? Your framerate is 23.976 fps (NTSC-FILM) and so you should choose the NTSC-FILM template.

If you used the standard NTSC VCD template (29.97 fps), then TMPGEnc would have had to do a framerate conversion (which never works out well) can could lead to sync problems...

Furthermore, for encoding DivX sources, it may work better to decode the source audio to uncompressed PCM WAV first...
