  1. I have an ISO file which is a bootable CD. Nero will only accept to burn it into a CD, not a DVD. How can I make that ISO burn into a DVD so that I can boot from a DVD instead? Thanks.

You don't need to try to convert it to a DVD. A DVD-ROM drive will also read CDs.

Is that a .iso image file or .nrg image file created by Nero? Have you tried burning ISO file using DVDDecrypter? I used Nero to create an image of a DVD and then burn the image to CD with no problem, and I suspect creating CD image using Nero and then burn image to DVD should work as well if you still have CD and if DVDDecrypter won't burn current ISO file to DVD.

Puppy is a well-regarded Linux distro that stays in the 60 meg range; the developers have been running it from multi-session CDs & DVDs (even flash drives), primarily for new users on windows machines. They have several tutorials about this and a very friendly forum.

  5. Well, I downloaded the freeware DVD Decryptor and with it I was able to generate a file with an "mds" extension which apparently converts the CD ISO into a DVD.After doing this I was able to burn this into a DVD (Nero now accepted it), and when loaded into a virtual drive it is recognized as a DVD, so it seems it should be able to boot from this DVD (I haven't tested this yet).

NERO has a bootable DVD option under the DVD section. You may have to extract the files from your .ISO file and create a DVD based boot image (I've never done this before, so I am shooting from the hip).
