Ripping and playback of SVCD is missing edges of picture??

Just a quick question for you all. Part of this question should have been posted in the hardware section I guess but however I shall explain.

I am having problems encoding a SVCD with TMPGenc which plays correctly on my Bush 2004 DVD player. The problem is not one of bad play back but what does seem to happen is the sides of the movie get chopped off on play back in the DVD player. When I playback the generated mpg on Power DVD XP I can see more at each side of the picture. This leads me to believe that the aspect ratio is wrong on the encoded movie??

Now here is the reason I should have posted this in the hardware group.

All the movies that I have downloaded (SVCD) seem to get the edges chopped off. I am therefore wondering if this is a fault with the Bush 2004 player?

Is this something that happends on SVCD? or just on the Bush 2004 player? or is there another option I can change on TMPGenc?

If anyone else has got this same problem I would be greatful if you could post messages back just so I know I am not the only one with this strange problem.

If you download and burn the Demo VCD here: http://www.vcdimager.org/pub/vcdimager/examples/demovcd/ there are test screens on the disc that allow you to measure just exactly how much your TV crops the edges by (in pixels and percentage).
