The manual says that teh DVD player plays picture CDs. However, when I put a CD in with .jpg files, it takes a long time loading and eventually I get a message that says "WRONG DISC". If I press the display button on the remote I do get an indication of how many .jpg files are there on the disc (say 1/256), but I am unable to see the pictures or get a slideshow. A wierd icon apprers in teh top right corner, something like a palm/ hand.
Am I doing something wrong or does thsi model have some limitations or do I have a defective piece. Is there a way/ hack around this?

I don't know how much information is in the manual, however, there could be several issues. Most likely the files will need to be in the root of the cd, not folders. There is most likely a file limit. The disc may need to be in a specific format (such as ISO 9660 standard). There may be a file size limit (actual size (example: less than 1MB) and resolution (esample: 800x600 or smaller). If the manual doesn't give specifics, then you will need to figure it out by trial and error. Use a CD-RW disc (assuming the player supports them) to save wasted discs, and experiment.
