    Hi all:

I am newbie and have been helped by many a post here on videohelp forum. *bowing in gratitude*

Anyway I remember quite some time ago reading a post about someone who was interested in the WinAVI video converter but had problems with making it work they said it kept crashing for some reason. I had the software at the time myself but had gotten around to using it yet.

Well, I finally got around to using it and it crashed just like that person said and after reading the logs in the Windows error box which mentioned something about Xvid codec I did a search and found the latest xvid codec 1.1.2-01112006 at http://www.codecs.com/
and it worked like a charm.

I'm sure it's since been updated since I've downloaded it but you know what they say "If it's broke fix it but if it's not leave it alone". I'm happy with the results of the above mentioned codec so I'll leave it at that.

I hope this helps someone else.
