Hi all,
Wonder if you can help me. I've found Stoik Video Converter - the free download - and have used it quite satisfactorily. However, I have opened it again today and tried to insert avi files and it now says "unexpected file format". This is the same whatever sort of file I put in - avi, wmv, mpeg. Just won't have it.I don't know what's gone wrong. Can anyone else advise please? Thank you kindly for your help...

I have never used it, but its been my experience that when something of that nature happens, ( suddenly refuses all input etc..)
that a needed file/program/dll has been corrupted or deleted or replaced, or some registry pointer has been changed
if your running winXP do a system restore to a prior point when things were working
or re-install the program -
If the registry is corrupted, then reinstallation always does not solve the problem as uninstalling does not mean that the registry keys stored in HKCU or HKLM will also be deleted. So when the prog will be reinstalled it will simply use the already existing reg setting from earlier installation.
A clean uninstall will require the corresponding reg keys to be removed. But if you are not confident enough to handle your registry, do not even dare to touch it as you can simply make your machine unbootable [in the worst case scenario].আমি বাংলায় গান গাই
