Okay, its been a long time since I last posted. Anyway here is my question...
I'm wanting to upgrade the CPU in this current machine to a dual core. This machine is being used primarily as a workstation and is doubling as a low level dedicated server. I'm on a budget of 250 USD for the CPU and I have narrowed it down to three choices.

My question is which of these three will best suit my needs? I do alot of audio and video processing Adobe Premier, Avid, Cakewalk etc. Occasional gaming, this processor will be overclocked so I need one that overclocks well. I'm wanting to pull as much performance as I possibly can out of a dying socket 939 motherboard.

  2. In general, most video encoders are multithreaded these days so a dual core will be signifantly faster than a single core processor. Cache size doesn't make much difference with Video encoding. Clock speed makes a bigger difference than cache size.

Of course, this varies from application to application.
