I used TMPGEnc 2.02.31.119 to convert an AVI file to MPG. But when I played it back using Windows Media Player, there was no audio. I followed the same instructions how to use TMPGEnc on this board. What could be wrong? I also have another AVI file which plays fine using Windows Media Player and DVIX The Playa, but TMPGEnc does not recognize its format. Any ideas why? Thanks.

Unfortunately this is not a solution
i just want to let you know i'm in exactly the same position
please help us

With some AVI files the audio is compressed and therefor you may have to extract the audio and convert it to wav with Virtualdub then Multiplex it with TMPGE .Word of warning though...the resulting Wav will be quite large (probably over a gig)but you can scrub it once you've multiplexed.
As explained here:

Thanks for the tip! I had this thread pointed out to me at just the right time! Following the instructions on that link, I was able to salvage a file I thought I couldn't convert... Thanks a bunch wee haggis!
