    Hi,

I'm a PC user...Are there any Mac applications that edit MPEG-2 directly? I mean, without first converting it to another format with MPEG StreamClip or another tool?

    Thanks.

Wait...now I see that MPEG Streamclip does edit MPEG-2 video. I'm not real clear if it requires re-encoding though. Anybody know if it (or any other Mac app) supports stream copying of unaffected or unedited MPEG-2 video such as in done with MPEG Video Wizard on the PC side?

MPEG Streamclip lets you cut segments from MPEG 2 files and does not require any re-encoding.

Another application that is good for this (better in some ways and not in others) is CaptyMPEGEdit EX. It can do frame accurate cuts.

Say Frobozz any suggestions you have for using CaptyMPEGEdit EX would be appreciated. I have tried numerous times to get it to work. I generally get complaints about either bitrate or format,

Project X too, but I use it for fixing streams mostly.
