    Hi all,
i was authoring 2 SVCDs using DVDLAB. everything is working fine except the TITLE button on my remote. if am in a say scene selection menu or in any sub-menu(except the root menu) then pressing TITLE button does nothing but brings up THAT SAME MENU on which it is there! say if am on a menu named MENU 1 and i press TITLE button then it will again bring up MENU 1. it won't go to the root menu. TITLE button is ONLY working when am playing the movie. if in between the movie i press it, it works...otherwise in menu...it fails

i can't understand where am going wrong. also TITLE button can only be linked to a ROOT menu or a MOVIE...not ANY OTHER OBJECT. then how is it possible that it is showing me other submenus.

note: on both submenus i have an background audio and i have therefore looped them for continuous playback.

    Pls help soon
    Thanks

You don't need to loop them, just set the timeout in the properties panel to inf (infinite).

Maybe I'm confused, but according to your connections window, Menu 1 is the root menu, and has the Title Button object linked to it.

ok set to inf. but then whats the use of the loop in the diagram mode?

oh my bad. actually MENU 1 i told u about was just an example...i should have written it menu 8 or scence 1 of movie 1 menu. so what now? my main problem is of TITLE button malfunction. for example if we go by the above picture...then say am of menu 2 and i press TITLE button...it stays on menu 2 only :/

Post the actual connection window so I can see your layout, if the one above isn't it.

I have pulled out a couple of my DLP authored discs, and on my player they all work as they should. Menu goes back from the title to the last menu, and Title goes back the root menu from anywhere.

What are you testing with ? Standalone, software player etc ?

I have read that not all players correctly program the title and return buttons, so the actions of these two in particular cannot be guaranteed. This may be true, or it may be typical internet paranoia and crap . . . . .

Right-click on your Title button object, and select Edit VM Commands. Make sure there is nothing in the custom pre- and post- sections, and that the line

    3. JumpSS VTSM (vts 1, tt 1, menu ROOT)

Appears after the register resets in the Abstraction Layer Pre-commands section

am testing it on my standalone. no actually i have made around 4 dvd-svcds authored by dvdlab(am not using the pro version) previously and all of them r working PERFECTLY on my standalone. which means that my players not faulty. now this project is posing problems for me which means that theres some problem from within the project itself

and also i right clicked the TITLE button object but theres no such EDIT VT Commands option in it. can u pls guide a bit.

Pro or the old DVD Lab ?

If Pro then you should upgrade to at least 1.6 (which is free to existing users). If it is the old DVD Lab then it is no longer supported and you should consider upgrading to DVD Lab Studio.

The old DVD Lab and DVD Lab Studio won't give you access to the VM commands, which may be why you can see them when you right-click.
