I just downloaded MTR 3 and did my first rip. I got a video_ts file and dragged it into toast, made a dvd... put it in the TV and
I got three items in the menu, each was a file name.
One was the trailer, played fine,
Second was the menu - which flipped through each item, never stopped and would not allow me to select anything.
Third, was the movie, which was dubbed or played only (remember I couldnt' adjust or access anything on the menu) in dubbed French.
the film was Gattaca.
Long and short... what do I do to get an integral DVD that works like the original with respects to the menu function?
Thanks!

i usually try to play the video_ts folder with apples dvd player before burning, this makes it easier to track down which stage of the process is causing problems...

Ok, so I'll try this, but I think you are saying that it will only help me diagnose... it won't cure the problem for next time. But what should I look for? just see how it plays...? It sounds like a good idea just because one of the wierd things is that Toast burns what appears to be a menu of its own, and then for example, one of the files in the Toast menu, is the actual menu of the DVD, which as I say, is non-functional, you just see it flip through itself as if it were pages, it doesn't hold still so you can select anything. Thanks for help!

How did you get the VIDEO_TS folder burned on the DVD? Tell us exactly what you did. Step by step.
We can avoid a chat situation in the forum that way. -
Matt or George or Whoever: Toast would only put in a menu
of its own if you selcted the DVD Video option instead of the
correct VIDEO_TS option. If the Toast window does NOT say
drag VIDEO_TS folder here, you didn't do it right.
That's what we mean by asking you to detail the steps you
took. Please don't make us guess/infer. It's unfair to the
unpaid help.

I have a coworker using MTR 3 trying to rip the main feature of Stranger Than Fiction. After burning in Toast he said it wouldn't play because there were no ifos.
I haven't seen the rip, but Daniel and Matt may be doing the same thing wrong. The ripped folder from MTR 3 should be ready to burn as a udf. -
toast has an option to create a custom menu. uncheck that option before burning.
