I am getting all kinds of egg bacon and bubble with my ip address.

    I think i have a dynamic IP.

I am with an ISP in Australia called 'Eftel'

I go onto the command promt and type ipconfig to get this:
    IP Address: 10.1.1.2
    Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0
    Default Gateway 10.1.1.1

It doesnt seem to hsow a real IP address therefore if i go onto www.whatismyip.com it tells me my external one is 205.xxx.xxx.xxx etc.

This is preenting p2p/ftp software working properly for me (i think)

How do i solve this issue?

    Cheers!

IP 10. is not an Internet accessible address. You are behind a router /firewall that provides network translation. This by itself should not restrict you from using p2p or ftp, but if the router is set to block certain ports it could cause your problems. If the router is not yours, then you will have to contact the provider to open the ports.

Sorry, can't help you there. I don't use any p2p software.

This site will probably cover more than you wanted to know about port forwarding.
