So I have a panasonic DVD-recorder that burns & plays DVD-Ram. My computer burner burns DVD-Ram but they won't play on my panasonic. This is regular DVD video that plays fine on other dvd media. Is there a special way I'm supposed to burn dvd-ram so it will play? I use Nero. Thanks,Mike

What model #? Does it also use - or + RW? You might try that rather than DVD RAM. What specifically did you burn on the DVD-RAM? Video files? DivX/Xvid? We need to know more info as to what you are doing....

I'm using it to backup some of my dvds. my burner also does dvd-r & +r & RW- or +
I use these & they work fine but I like the dvd-ram feature on my panasonic player & figured since my PC burner can do DVD-Ram I may as well take advantage of it
Now I burned it as DVD video with nero & it wouldn't play. I'm assuming it's because dvd-ram is in a diferent format. What I don't know is is there an easy way to convert a reg dvd-video folder to meet the dvd-ram standard & burn it? Thanks -
DVD-RAM isn't very popular in the USA. The discs cost too much and there's no advantage to using it. It's kind of popular in the UK, so a forum reader from there might be able to help. Usually if I make some kind of statement about how much DVD-RAM sucks, somebody from the UK who really understands the format will reply. So to do you a favor and try to encourage our friends across the pond to respond...
DVD-RAM sucks! It's a dying format! NOBODY uses it. Heck, it's probably impossible to do what you want to do. You should just stick to making REAL DVDs, not these DVD-RAM pieces of crap!
Now hopefully someone from the UK who understands the format well will verbally abuse me AND solve your problem. No need to thank me. Just trying to help. -

piano632 - you missed the point. The whole point of my diatribe was merely to spur someone who knows something about the format into answering the original poster's question, which STILL hasn't happened. Read my post again. Pay careful attention to the first paragraph.

Panny DVD-Ram uses VRO format, not VIDEO_TS folders. Record something with your panny on DVD-Ram then look at the format on your computer. DVD-Ram is like a HD.
