  1. I'm not exactly sure what I have to tell you the truth but, I have downloaded a couple documentary's that I beleieve are AVI's in divx codec .. ? I've tried converting these using WINAVI and it does convert them but when I try to burn the files I get errors using a couple of different burning programs.

What is the best way to determine exactly what my downloads actually are and the best way to finally burn them onto DVD?

    what errors? what burning programs?

ANd I would use ConvertXtoDVD or DVD FLick instead of winavi.

  3. Well, after I converted the download (windows sees its an AVI, with the Divx codec) I get the DVD_01_1 directory that holds 2 sub directories containing directories AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS

    VIDEO_TS folder contains:

VIDEO_TS (Backup File of the IFO) 8 KB
VIDEO_TS (DVD Movie Info) 8 KB
VTS_01_0 (Backup File of the IFO) 74 KB
VTS_01_1 (DVD Movie Info) 74 KB
    VTS_01_1 (DVD Movie) 4813858 KB

I tried to use Clonve DVD 2 using the "Write Existing Data" function and I also tried to use the write function in WINAVI but bothe gave me "unexpected error" and neither elaborated on what exactly the error was. I tried using DVD Shrink, but it just wouldn't even recognize my converted files. I'm wondering if I donverted incorrectly or am just simply missing something here. I've done a fe converts and curns but I'm far from a pro at this. Thanks for your help with this. If the above looks like I did most everything right, I'll try your suggestion and convert it with ConvertXtoDVD.

  6. If you have access to a mac Toast 7 & 8 do a nice job converting avi/divx files to DVD. Both in 3:4 , 16:9 and with DD or PCM audio.
